About the role:
At Virgin Australia we are committed to delivering excellence in aviation. The position of Leader – Quality Conformance is an exciting opportunity to join our Safety Systems team and is integral to the oversight of our Engineering and Maintenance Quality and Safety system functions.
As the Leader – Quality Conformance, you will be responsible for overseeing delivery of the CAMO Quality Audit Program to ensure conformance with Parts 42 and 145 of the CASR 1998 as well as the associated Manual of Standards and Expositions.
You will also have oversight of the CAMO Engineering Quality and Safety program which processes daily safety reports related to aircraft engineering defects and investigates maintenance errors and escapes originating from external Aircraft Maintenance Organisations, performing maintenance on behalf of VA.
You’ll be great for this role if you have:
- Comprehensive understanding of regulations and standards applicable to the full range of functions within the CASR Part 42 CAMO regulatory framework.
- A strong background in Quality Management Systems
- Lead Auditor qualification and experience auditing engineering and maintenance functions.
- Exposure to aircraft engineering and maintenance operations in an airline environment
- Experience with Safety Management Systems (SMS), emphasizing a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Advanced computer and data analysis skills, including report writing.
- Demonstrated ability to critically review and write reports, tabled both internally and to external providers, including all management levels.
Desirable but not required:
- A working knowledge and experience with the TRAX and Intelex
- Excellent understanding of Virgin Australia’s internal policy and procedures related to maintenance & airworthiness.
