What you’ll be doing
The objective of the Schedule Coordinator role is to support the development and delivery of Virgin Australia schedules for RPT (Regular Public Transport) and Charter services, in consultation with commercial and operational stakeholders. Effective collaboration with Operational and Commercial stakeholders is critical to success in this role to ensure fulfilment of business Commercial needs.
Further responsibilities:
- Support the development of seasonal schedules; includes optimisation of seasonal schedules for OTP (On Time Performance), network connectivity (Virgin Australia planes and partner airlines), slots utilisation, crew resourcing productivity, block hours production and fleet deployment
- Publish seasonal schedules into selling system and other internal VAA (Virgin Australia Airlines) / VARA (Virgin Australia Regional Airlines) systems within agreed delivery timelines
- Support the administration of Virgin Australia slot portfolio, prepare reporting for IATA seasonal filing processes, monitor slot utilisation, highlight any at risk slots for both RPT and charter services
- Assist in the development of different scheduling scenarios as required; including budgets, reforecasts, and seasonal base week schedules
- Co-ordinate the optimisation of Virgin Australia schedules by assessing schedule variations that facilitate increased operational resilience and/or enhanced fulfilment of business commercial needs
- Assist with the publication of ad-hoc schedule changes including market exits/ launches, fleet Entry into Service (EIS) date variations and seasonal schedule publications
- Ensure accurate selling schedule out to 330 days is produced and ready for publication
- Maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders such as Airport Slot Coordinators, Revenue Management Analysts and Crew Planning Analysts
- Concisely communicate network changes to key stakeholders across Commercial and Operational areas of business
- Collaborate with key Commercial stakeholders
- Attendance and contribution at key internal Operational and Commercial forums
- Maintain internal schedule planning process documentation
You’ll be great in this role if you…
- 2 year's experience in a Scheduling, Logistics Planning or Commercial Planning role
- Exceptional analytical skills, with at least intermediate skills in Excel
- Strong ability to efficiently manipulate large datasets
- Solid commercial acumen
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with various stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure and problem solve
- Aviation or transportation experience is highly advantageous
