What you’ll be doing: 

The role of the Senior Android Mobile App Developer is to technically develop Velocity Frequent Flyer’s customer facing Android native mobile app, using leading development practices and cutting-edge technologies, which will provide additional value to our guests and members and helps Virgin Australia to be Australia’s most loved airline. 

Our Mobile App Squads continues to delivery outstanding experiences for our guests and members and we are looking for vibrant and knowledgeable team members who can continue to help us deliver the best digital experience 

Your role includes but is not limited to; 

• Develop high quality and scalable solutions which you take pride in 
• Work closely with, and incorporate feedback from, product management, designers, architects and other developers 
• Use best practices to deliver high quality code; Unit-test code for robustness including edge cases, usability, and general reliability 
• Research, share and implement modern mobile app engineering techniques 
• Mentoring Mid Developers 
• Ensure that strong stakeholder engagement is established and maintained across the Mobile App team 

You’ll be great in this role if you have:  

• Extensive experience in Mobile App Development using Kotlin / Android Studio 
• Strong experience in modern engineering practices and disciplines 
• Experience working with API consumption experience preferably AWS 
• Good experience in TDD (Test Driven Development) and agile development methodologies  
• Mentoring of other team members 
• Design Patterns Knowledge 
• Desirable not essential experience in Jetpack compose, Coroutines, Modular App Development 
• Airline/aviation technology experience is desirable
