Business Development Executive

What you’ll be doing:

As a Business Development Executive, you will play a pivotal role in growing our Business Flyer program. Based in our Brisbane head office, this phone-based position focuses on warm sales, where you’ll manage a portfolio of over 150 potential clients. Your mission? To nurture relationships, convert leads into loyal customers, and drive revenue growth. With a steady flow of inbound leads and existing clients, you’ll have endless opportunities to close deals and make a meaningful impact. Plus, you'll get to represent Virgin Australia at key events, expanding your network and amplifying your success in the sales arena.

In addition you will:

  • Exceed sales targets and drive revenue growth within the SME Business Flyer program.
  • Actively engage leads and close sales to increase value from existing clients.
  • Shape revenue strategies that boost program engagement and quality of revenue.
  • Meet daily call targets to nurture client relationships and meet customer needs.
  • Partner with your team to hit SLAs, supporting revenue growth and stellar customer service.
  • Work with management to refine and implement a customer engagement strategy.
  • Professionally manage calls and emails, ensuring every interaction is seamless.
  • Assess client needs and provide tailored solutions with confidence and expertise.
  • Deliver clear, accurate information on Virgin Australia’s full suite of products to advise and support customers effectively.

Please note this is a 12-month maternity leave opportunity. 

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Proven experience in meeting and exceeding revenue targets, with a strong ability to close deals.
  • Ability to identify new opportunities, convert leads, and grow an existing client portfolio.
  • Exceptional rapport-building skills to foster long-lasting client relationships that encourage repeat business.
  • Skilled in maximizing revenue by upselling and cross-selling Virgin Australia’s products and services.
  • Proactive and goal-oriented approach to capturing and leveraging sales opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the flexibility to adapt to diverse client needs.
  • Experienced in managing a high-volume sales pipeline, consistently achieving KPIs and sales metrics.
